Summer Development Classes

Summer Development Classes

KCP Summer Development Classes

During the summer months, we do not conduct Children's Sunday School, Parent Discipleship, or any Community Groups. However, we do want to make sure we are providing opportunities for you to learn & grow in the context of your community at King's Chapel. So, for the second summer in a row, we are pleased to offer the church four Summer Development Classes:

Learning to Study the Bible (with Philemon)
Start Date – June 4th
Day & Time – Sundays @ 9:00am
Coordinator – Ed Hogan
Overview – Ed Hogan will lead this study of the book of Philemon, while teaching principles and techniques for the proper study, interpretation, and application of the Bible.

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
Start Date – June 4th
Day & Time – Sundays @ 5:00pm
Coordinator – Henry Dent
Overview – The Bible is full of wisdom pertaining to money & financial matters. Since God has called us to be good stewards of the life & the possessions he has given us, we are meant to practice wisdom with our finances. However, so many people in our country – including the church – are plagued by staggering personal debt. Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University is meant to take the wisdom of God found in scripture and practically apply it to our personal finances – especially with regard to our debt & our money management. This nine-week class covers a variety of topics that seeks to enable Christians to be wise, good stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us.

Theological Foundations
Start Date – May 31st
Day & Time – Wednesdays @ 6:00pm
Coordinator – Andrew Hendley
Overview – Theological Foundations is a ten-week study in systematic theology using the Westminster Confession of Faith as the principal study resource. This class plays a significant role in the theological equipping of our members and especially for those that want to be officers and leaders in the church. During the course, participants work through weekly reading and Q&A assignments outlined in a student manual. During the class, we will cover the material primarily using interaction and discussion, rather than lecture. If you have an interest in preparing for leadership, or would like to better understand theological positions at King’s Chapel, or simply want to grow in your understanding of theology, this would be the class for you.

KCP Worship Choir
Start Date – June 1st
Day & Time – Thursdays @ 6:30pm
Coordinator – Ed Hogan
Overview – Believers are commanded to sing to the Lord, and this summer choir rehearsal is designed to develop musicianship, teach about the history of church music and hymnody, and foster greater understanding of the worship of God and the role of music in worship. Anyone middle school age or older who has a pleasing voice and an interest in ministering through singing is invited to participate. At the end of the summer or early in the fall we will have a hymn-sing, which will include singing by this choir, the children who will learn about hymnody this summer, and the congregation.

Registration for these classes are now open! Childcare can be provided for each class as well. To register for these classes, please fill out the sign-up form no later than May 24th.
